You all know beading is my first love. And that is true ;) But I also keep a small collection of embroidered jewelry with traditional Moldovan ornaments. The collection is called "Moldavica" and I usually work on it on the occasion of two big summer festivals dedicated to traditional crafts. One was held last Saturday in the Holercani village, Moldova, about 60km from the capital city where I live.
IA MANIA is a festival of arts bron from tradition held each year. This is the occasion to buy an authentic traditional blouse with embroidery from artisans called "Ia", this is actually where the name of the festival comes from, from the traditional costume :) There was also a parade of the traditional costume, a craft fair with traditional blouses, pottery, accesories, traditional food and many more!
I participated at the craft fair with my small collection of jewelry inspired from our Moldovan traditions: pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings. Bellow are a few of the pieces I made.
